Five Minutes…

On test days my students come in and I give them three-five minutes to look over their notes. My reasoning behind this is so that they can get into the right mindset before taking the test. Some may think that this five minutes of study time is not time well used – if the kid hasn’t got it by classtime then he/she will not get it in that five minutes. This five minutes, however, is not for them to cram information into their mind it is simply time for them to get into the right frame of mind.

My question to you is, what do you think? I really would like some input from other teachers about this and different ways to approach test days.
