End of the Year Celebration

The end is in sight for me. We have 14 days left of school. My kids (and myself) are starting to get summer fever. I have some good things planned for the last week of school. Being a middle and high school teacher our end of the year celebration is not as spectacular as others in the younger grades.

In all of my classes:

  • I am creating a class wordle and printing pictures to give each student.
  • I am also creating a slideshow which we will watch on the last day of school.
  • I am going to have the students reflect on their year using questions from Rachel Lynette on Minds In Bloom. I hope to get some good feedback for next year.

In my Drama class we are going to watch a film that they made for a project. They created a show that is reminiscent of Saturday Night Live. They worked very hard on it and I was truly flabbergasted at how well it turned out.

In my English class we will have final exams, because it is a high-school class. So a day or so before finals we are going to have a Greek Food Fest. We will eat falafel, hummus and other Greek food to celebrate our completion of the Odyssey. I will post pictures and other items here after all is said and done 🙂

What are you planning for the end of the year?
